AFL NSW-ACT combined with the NSW Australian Football Historical Society to unveil NSW's Greatest Ever AFL Team at a Carbine Club of NSW luncheon.
Wagga's Wayne Carey was named captain of the team at centre-half-forward.
Wagga's Paul Kelly shared the vice captaincy duties with Ungarie's Terry Daniher.
The forward-line alone was an all-Riverina affair, while Cootamundra's Isaac Smith was named on the interchange bench.
Temora footballer Luke Breust, who is forging a brilliant career at Hawthorn, described his selection as 'humbling'.
"It's a huge honour," Breust said.
"It's pretty humbling, I guess, to be named in the team, let alone on a half-forward line with Terry Daniher and Wayne Carey is pretty special. When you think about it, it would be pretty good to run out alongside the two of them and it would be pretty special to play a game in the same forward line.
"Its a huge honour and I'm absolutely rapt that NSW is gaining a little bit more traction highlighting the amount of talent from the area and how good the area has been at producing quality players.
"That's what I'm most pleased about, to continue to grow the game in NSW and show how strong the code is within the state."
The selection panel comprised of Richard Colless, Mike Sheahan, Gerard Healy, AFL commissioner Gabrielle Trainor, AFL NSW-ACT chief executive Sam Graham and respected historians Rod Gillett, Miles Wilks and Ian Granland.
