Only two recognised pacemen have been selected in the side, which boasts five debutants.
Plenty of young talent have been given their chance to shine against Cricket Albury-Wodonga Hume at Robertson Oval on Sunday.
Captain Josh Thompson revealed plenty of more experienced cricketers made themselves unavailable for the clash.
However he's confident in the line up he's assembled can step up to the task in the time-honoured competition.
"Through a lot of unavailability a lot of people get their chance," Thompson said.
"It is pretty exciting for those guys.
"Most people we asked were busy, already had plans and if they committed to O'Farrell it wass going to be three Saturday/Sundays in a row.
"You can see that sounds pretty daunting leading into finals."
Thompson believes it is an opportunity to show the depth of the competition.
Lake Albert's Jacson Sommerville, South Wagga's Jake Scott, Wagga RSL's Jack Carey and Wagga City pair Zac Lewis and Angus Grigg all making their debuts.
Sommerville is the only debutant aged over 20 and Thompson believes it is a credit to the pathways being created in the competition.
"I think the depth in Wagga Cricket is a lot larger than in previous years," he said.
"You get five, six or seven good players in each team rather than just three.
"Everyone is improving and it is probably a credit to every cricket club in Wagga for what they are doing behind the scenes."
South Wagga quick Nathan Cooke and Grigg are the only two frontline pacemen in the line up, however Thompson has plenty of spin options at his disposal to help compensate.
He's confident it is an attack that will work for Wagga, who overcame their rivals at the same stage of the competition last season.
"I think we have enough good spinners to get around that," Thompson said.
"Over the years we've had a few good spinners come through our comp so we have to go with the spin."
The winner of the clash will tackle holders Cricket Albury-Wodonga Provincial for the right to hold the cup over the winter.
The final will be on the border on February 28.
