The promising junior has been set a hard task as the Bulls look to get off the bottom of the ladder up against the competition front runners at Rawlings Park on Saturday.
However captain Isaac Cooper is confident the batting all-rounder is up to the task.
"He's been playing all up and down the grades and definitely has the ability to step up to first grade and show the club what he can do," Cooper said.
Pulver comes into the side for Sam McLay.
Lake Albert had mixed results in the Twenty20s but scored a win in their last one-day match before the Christmas break.
Cooper is looking forward to getting back onto the field.
"It has been a long wait for a game of cricket so everyone is keen to go," he said.
"It is really good.
"Cats are very strong so the whole team is going to have to be on their A game so hopefully we can put a complete game in."
