Fire and Rescue Southern Zone Commander Stewart Alexander said crews got the call at 8pm after reports of a fire on Nagle Street.
"It's a commercial building," he said. "We believe there are some products alight such as paint thinners.
"It doesn't look there is any threat to any surrounding buildings, but firefighters are still working to completely knock down the fire down."

Superintendent Alexander said there was a "rapid response" from firefighters, who have attacked the fire and gained control quickly.
However, he added, it is still a dangerous situation so cautioned people to stay away.
A social media post by Fire and Rescue NSW Station 472 Turvey Park said roads around the site have been closed for now.
