Officers from the Riverina Police District stopped a gold Nissan X-Trail SUV on Dennis Crescent, Tolland, at about 2.10pm on Wednesday, following sightings of the vehicle allegedly not displaying registration plates.
The driver, a 44-year-old woman, was unable to produce a permit to police. She allegedly became aggressive and spat in the face of a Senior Constable.
The woman was arrested and taken to Wagga Police Station where she was charged with assault police officer in execution of duty without actual bodily harm and not comply noticed direction re spitting/coughing - COVID-19.

The woman, from Coolamon, will also be issued infringement notices for using an unregistered motor vehicle and offensive language in a public place.
She is due to appear in Wagga Local Court on Wednesday, January 27, 2021.
