The reigning champions will take on Leeton United in an Murrumbidgee Irrigation Area (MIA) grand final after they sent the Hawks packing in straight sets.
Two first-half goals did the damage for Hanwood but it could have been more as the visitors hit the post twice and bombed what appeared to be a certainty from close range.
It was not until Henwood Park defender Matthew Beasley was red carded midway through the second half that the Hawks really looked to kick into gear and despite going down to 10-men they continued to press and fight until the final whistle.
Hanwood coach Anthony Agresta was pleased to move through to a second consecutive grand final appearance.
"It's good. We made it tough for ourselves today to be fair," Agresta said.
"We had a chance there, we probably should have buried them but we didn't, Chima hit the post twice and had that chance there at the end that he would bury every other day of the week.
"Obviously you'd like to be a bit more clinical but for me, it doesn't matter, it's how you get the job done and as long as you get the job done and we did that.
"The pleasing thing for me was another clean sheet. We've been really working on our defence and again today the boys were pretty good. Even when we made the changes and the couple of guys that come in from the week before, they still worked pretty hard and that's the thing, we're playing as a unit and we've given ourselves a chance."
Michael Cimador opened the scoring for Hanwood in the 28th minute when putting a Michael Musitano corner in the back of the net after a scramble near the back post.
Musitano then made it 2-0 will he converted a penalty right on the stroke of half-time.
It proved more than enough to see Hanwood through to another grand final and Agresta is proud of the way his team has worked their way through to the decider from third spot.
"Last year we probably had a bit more of a, not superstar team but we had Joey (Schirripa), Brad (Clarke) and Andy (Gamble) and that, and sometimes you've got a team that needs to grind a bit more and I think that's what we're doing," he said.
"I don't think many people have given us a chance. We'll go in as underdogs next week, which is good. Leeton's flying and I think I've heard out of their camp that we didn't have the team to win it this year so it's good to know."
Agresta said an all-MIA grand final against Leeton should only add to the two club's rivalry.
"It's going to add a bit more spice to it, I suppose," he said.
"It's going to be a good day and we'll see how we go."
