The club has also had new jumpers designed to avoid a clash with the Wagga Tigers.
The Ostriches donned their new jumper for the first time in their intra-club hitout on the weekend ahead of their season opener against Wagga Tigers on Saturday.
The jumper is predominantly yellow with a black V, which the club first wore during the 1940s and 1950s.
Osborne president Jason Gooden said the club was highly anticipating playing the Wagga Tigers which sees the reigning premiers of both competitions clash.
"It's been an arduous process to get this far but it finally looks like we are going to get a game of footy," Gooden said.
"We have had to jump through a lot of hoops but we have kept ticking the boxes and moving forward.
"It has been a matter of staying calm and connected.
"It's a tough situation with Joel not being able to coach.
Gooden said the club was proud of its new jumper design which has strong links to its rich heritage.
"It is the same jumper the club used in the 1940s and 1950s," he said.
"The yellow represents Osborne who is a club without a town and with its oval in the middle of a paddock.
"When you think of Osborne in the spring during the finals, you think of the paddocks of yellow canola."
Gooden said the club decided on using the ostrich moniker after an ostrich farm was in close proximity to the ground during the 1990s.
"We often refer to ourselves as the ostriches internally," he said.
"For a large part of the 1990s there was an ostrich farm located close to the oval which was run by the Schneiders.
"Once the Schneiders stopped farming ostriches, they donated the farming sheds to the football club which were used around the ground as player and supporter shelters.
"So the ostrich moniker is a reminder of our history.
"It is also acknowledges the importance of community support and generosity in our club."
