A number of Blues players were fined after a brawl in Tumut over the weekend, but co-coach Adam Pearce is confident their full focus is on getting off to a strong start in round one.
"We probably had some of the best training on Tuesday night after the little incident," Pearce said.
"We spoke about it before training and everyone put it behind them and trained really well."
Josh Webb will miss the clash with a hamstring injury.
Lachlan Bristow is also in doubt but will be given until after Friday's training run to prove his fitness.
Pearce expects Brothers will be a big challenge.
"They had good team last year and I don't think they've lost too many from that team," he said.
However he's hoping the reduction in interchanges will suit the more mobile Blues pack.
