Riverina League will travel to Canberra in May in a bid to reverse the result of their 2017 fixture.
The league were unsuccessful in pursuing a Victorian opponent so locked in a rematch with their Canberra foes.
Riverina League is also on the hunt for a new representative coach after Guy Orton stepped down due to family reasons.
Riverina League president Chris Flanigan is looking forward to another crack at Canberra.
“Canberra will be good. We seen last year when the guys and clubs got behind rep footy with the Farrer League thing, we showed what we can do,” Flanigan said.
“I’m hoping everyone gets behind it and we can show what we can do against a pretty strong comp.”
AFL Canberra proved too good for Riverina League by 40 points at Robertson Oval two years ago.
The league restored some representative pride with an 85-point thrashing of arch-rival Farrer League last year.
With some quality recruits entering the league over the off-season, Flanigan hopes a full-strength Riverina can make another statement.
“With the influx of players we’ve got with what the clubs have been recruiting, we shouldn’t be too bad,” he said.
“Hopefully we can get all of the best players available and have a real crack at them over there."
Flanigan said the league is still keen to forge a relationship with some Victorian opponents moving forward.
“We are still trying to work something out with the Murray League, or even over towards the Sunraysia League,” he said.
“VCFL with their ranking system is too hard because it’s too late in the year before you know, but ideally we would like to play down that way.”
Flanigan hopes to appoint a replacement for Guy Orton within the next few weeks.
Meantime, Hume League has agreed to play Farrer League for their representative fixture.
Farrer League appointed Brad Aiken as their new representative coach last month.
Both games will be played on May 18.
