The Bureau of Meteorology has forecast that the Murrumbidgee and Tumut rivers will not see their water levels reach official minor flood status over the next few days.

The bureau last week warned that the rivers could have hit minor flood levels on Monday.
"Releases from Burrinjuck and Blowering Dams combined with local tributary inflows will cause flooding near minor levels along the Tumut and Murrumbidgee Rivers this week," the new warning stated on Monday.
"The Tumut River at Tumut is likely to remain just below the minor level of 2.0 metres today and for the remainder of the week.
"Similarly, along the Murrumbidgee River at Gundagai river levels are expected to remain near 5.8 metres just below the minor flood level of 6.10 metres.
"River levels along the Murrumbidgee River at Wagga are expected to remain below minor levels. The Murrumbidgee at Narrandera and Darlington Point are expected to reach near to their minor flood levels this week."

Murrumbidgee River at Wagga reached a level of 6.44 metres on Monday afternoon, falling short of the offiicial minor flood level of 7.3 metres.
"Showers are forecast across parts of the Tumut and Murrumbidgee Rivers from late Monday into Tuesday and Wednesday this week," the warning stated.
"This rainfall is not expected to impact forecast flood levels. The situation is being closely monitored and revised forecasts and warnings will be issued if required."

- Avoid drowning. Stay out of rising water, seek refuge in the highest available place.
- Prevent damage to your vehicle. Move it under cover, away from areas likely to flood.
- Avoid being swept away. Stay out of fast-flowing creeks and storm drains.
- Never drive, ride or walk through flood water. Flood water can be deceptive and dangerous.
