The Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) released its first warning on Thursday at midday.
"Releases from Burrinjuck and Blowering Dams combined with local tributary inflows will cause flooding near minor levels along the Tumut and Murrumbidgee Rivers in the coming days and into next week," the updated warning stated on Friday.
"The Tumut River at Tumut is likely to remain steady around 1.8 metres, just below the minor level of 2.0 metres today and into the weekend.
"Similarly, along the Murrumbidgee River at Gundagai river levels are expected to remain near 5.7 metres just below the minor flood level.
"River levels along the Murrumbidgee River at Wagga are expected to remain below minor levels, while downstream at Narrandera and Darlington Point river levels are expected to reach their minor flood levels next week."
The BOM's warning said there were showers forecast across parts of the Tumut and Murrumbidgee rivers this weekend.

"This rainfall is not expected to impact forecast flood levels. The situation is being closely monitored and revised forecasts and warnings will be issued if required," the warning stated.
WaterNSW says there is a "high likelihood" of the Murrumbidgee River rising further due to flows from tributaries and the region's soil being saturated with water.
