However she continued her form turnaround to take out the Menangle Country Series at Riverina Paceway on Tuesday.
Yet to finish out of the placings in her first five starts for Narrandera trainer Ellen Bartley, the six-year-old put in her best performance yet to book her place in the lucrative final at the end of the month.
Reinsman Blake Jones opted for a conservative route after finding the front.
After being beaten in front two starts ago, the move paid dividends as Baker Creek ($1.70) outsprinted Ideal Escape ($6) to win by a neck.
"I tried to back off a bit but Stewie (Richards) wasn't going to let me too much so I thought I'd bite the bullet, let him go and hope we could out dash him in the end as he would have made us work a little too hard and she was probably better off having a breather," Jones said.

Baker Creek won her first and third starts in the country after arriving on a low mark.
Jones has been impressed with her efforts.
"The reason the boys picked her out and bought her is she had form around Demeter real early in her career so they kept a bit of an eye on her, tried to buy her a couple times, had no joy but eventually got her," he said.
"I've got to credit Jamie (Durnberger-Smith) and Jake (Webster) for that as they pick them out over there and keep a good eye on them."
It was part of an early double for the couple after Just Ralph put in a tough display to make it two wins and a second from his last three starts.
"He's going super the big fella," Jones said.
"I was sort of confident but then Pete's horse (Western Secret) got through really good and was in front of me.
"I knew he was the main danger but in the end it worked out alright as they went a 47 lead time and I didn't have do any work then, just popped around in a 31 quarter and it was probably the difference in the end."
