Ganmain-Grong Grong-Matong's Jack McCaig fits that bill, which is why his teammates were so pumped with his starring role in last week's big home win over Coolamon.
McCaig booted four goals, three coming in the Lions' dominant six-goals-to-nothing second term which set up the 66-point local derby victory.
He normally plays at half-forward with applying defensive pressure one of his main strengths, but Lions coach Sam Martyn was pleased to see him get his time in the spotlight.
"He's one of those players that slips under the radar, 'Keggy'," Martyn said.
"He just does all that really hard work for the team and usually it's really selfless work, but it was great to see him get his reward.
"He does some really important things for the team that sometimes go unnoticed. It was good to see him reap the rewards and credit to him because he's had an outstanding start to the season, and his pre season resembled that too."

McCaig said the win, which improved the second-placed Lions' record to 7-1 before this week's competition bye, had given them belief they're a legitimate contender this year.
The only side they've fallen to was unbeaten Mangoplah-Cookardinia United-Eastlakes.
"It's been a big thing we've talked about all the year, that the pressure needs to start from the forward line and trying to keep that up all game," he said.
"We've changed our style a bit. Usually we'd kick it down the line and hope someone marks it, but Marto has brought in getting it moving as quickly as we can, which has been working pretty well so far.
"It was a pretty tight contest the whole game except for the second quarter, but to take our chances then was good."
