Coming off a 34-10 loss to Brothers, the Dragons had to overcome having a player sin binned to take a 14-6 win at Equex Centre on Saturday.
Captain-coach Jackelyn Hughes was thrilled with how her side's defence stood up when Beth Taylor was dismissed.
"Our defence was pretty good considering there was 10 minutes there where we only had 10 players as we had one in bin," Hughes said.
However after unbeaten Brothers proved far too strong when the two heavyweights clashed at Nixon Park, Hughes thought it was a much improved effort.
"I was very happy with how the girls played and it was a good team effort by everyone," she said.
"I thought we played a whole lot better than what we did against Brothers, 'Roos were still very good but together we played a lot better."

Temora is looking to keep up their strong run against premiers Young at Nixon Park on Sunday.
The Cherrypickers are still yet to record a win this season after Montana Kearnes scored in the dying second to give Southcity a 20-18 win at Alfred Oval on Sunday.
Young has lost plenty of experience from the side who went through undefeated last season and just couldn't quite hold on against a Bulls outfit who brought their first year of the year in dramatic circumstances.
Kearnes put in a grubber for herself close to the line and managed to get there just in time.
Coach Jeremy Hampton was thrilled to come away with the win.
"There were a couple of times when we were down there and should have put it to bed," Hampton said.
"We've been building towards that win and it has been tough but the girls stuck together to get the win."
Young had led from the opening minute of the clash but Southcity responded in the second half to keep the Cherrypickers scoreless.
It's been a tough start for the Bulls, with their three losses to sides in the top four, but Hampton hopes a win can kick start their season.
Meanwhile Brothers continued their unbeaten start with a 24-10 win over Gundagai at Anzac Park.
Albury also extended their strong start with a 60-0 win over Junee.
