After the Jamieson family lost their family home on Sidonia Road in Hay just after 8am on Monday, the local football and netball club began an online crowdfunder that has so far raised more than $12,000 in just over 24 hours.
Spokesperson for the fundraiser and secretary for the Hay Lions Football and Netball Club, Jade Auldist said the speed at which the fundraising metre has climbed was a reminder of the small town's community spirit.
"It's come through really fast, and I'm not all that surprised that it has," Ms Auldist said.
"In Hay, the community here really rallies around the people in need."

Together they hav been involved with the local football club for many years as sponsors, players, and coaches, Ms Auldist said.
She described the Jamiesons as "one of the most caring families in Hay" and said the finances raised will be the family's first step in rebuilding their lives.
"I just thought, insurance and everything takes time, they'll need access to money straight away," Ms Auldist said.
