Mitch Carter will come off the bench when the Brethren tackle Temora at Nixon Park on Sunday.
The 17-year-old is excited for his shot in the top grade.
"I'm very excited," Carter said.
"It was definitely a goal for this year and now it's something to tick off the list."
Carter hopes he can add some spark from dummy half when he gets his chance to give new hooker Cade Price a break at some stage in the clash.
"Hopefully I can do a job in defence and try to be a bit explosive," he said.
With two playmakers out for their trip to Young, Price went into dummy half in the 78-4 loss in round two.
He reverted back to his familiar role as fullback in the 50-0 loss to Southcity last week however co-coach Brodie Rigg believes having Price in the number nine jersey works for the side.
"We're putting Cade back at hooker as he's very smart with the way he runs from dummy half," Rigg said.
"If he gets a chance and sneaks through not many people will be able to keep up with him or catch him.
"It adds a bit more attack.
"We've got a big pack but we haven't been capitalising on their quick play-the-balls so far so having him there will do that for us."

With Price into hooker, Sam Macklan has shifted into halfback while Edan Price will replace his brother at fullback.
Rigg is also looking forward to seeing Carter in action.
Temora has forfeited the Weissel Cup and Brothers are looking to take advantage by giving the Kooringal High School student a shot.
"He's a very promising young player," Rigg said.
"He's smart out of hooker, controls it really well, has good service and he's super excited to make his debut so I think he'll be very energetic when he comes on."
Brothers are coming off two big losses but are confident they can get things back on track against a Temora outfit with just the one win to their credit.
Rigg has been pleased with how the side has handled a couple of tough weeks.
"We're going in to win against Temora," Rigg said.
"Everyone's heads are in the right place, we've got the winning attitude and we're going out there to do the job and come home with the win.
"We're very positive about this weekend as we've been through a lot in the last couple of weeks as a playing group but no one's heads are down.
"Last week's loss was pretty hard to take but we took a lot of learning from it as well.
"Everyone is keen to rip in and keen to win."
Tomasi Baravilala has been moved into the starting side with Lawrie Bamblett out.
