The centre has scored hat-tricks in his first two games of the season.
After impressing in Riverina's Country Championships campaign, the 23-year-old hasn't looked back and believes confidence gained from the rep area has translated for the Bulls.
"I got a bit of confidence playing with all those boys and it helped get me off to a good start," Hodge said.
"There were a couple of tough games."
Southcity have scored big wins over Albury and Brothers to start the season.
However Kangaroos loom as a much bigger challenge at Harris Park on Saturday.
Young had the same formline as Southcity before just edging Kangaroos last week.
The 14-8 result has put the Bulls on notice.
"It will definitely be a tough game for us and as they've been going unreal to start the season off," Hodge said.
"It will definitely give us a good indicator of where we are at and I think it will be a very tough game.
"I'm looking forward to it for sure."

Hodge returned to his junior club last year.
The Bulls missed the finals for the first time in a decade last season but there is a different feeling around the club this time around.
"It's been a big change to last year with people coming back," Hodge said.
"It's been very enjoyable to start the season.
"We did the same stuff but it just didn't really click for us last year but I feel with the boys who chose not to play coming back and a couple of the Junee boys coming over it has really boosted us.
"We haven't changed the approach but it's working for us compared to last year.
"We were thereabouts but were just missing that little something."
Hodge has been part of the red hot left edge for Southcity so far with former Junee fullback Daniel Foley playing outside him.
Hodge has been selected on the wing for Country's clash next month.
He's excited for the opportunity and is more than happy with whatever role he's given.
"Wherever I get put I'll still go in looking for the ball and do what I can do to help out the boys," he said.
"It doesn't really bother me to be honest.
"I'm more than happy to play anywhere and I'm just happy to be out there fit and healthy."
Southcity head into the clash unchanged.
However Kangaroos will be without fullback Jake Mascini, who has had an outstanding start to the season in his new role.
James Strickland comes into the side.
