McQueen has switched roles with Tyron Gorman, who heads into centre for the clash with Albury at Greenfield Park on Saturday.
Co-coach Luke Berkrey wants to get more out of the former Country firsts captain.
"With Luffy being out we thought we might have to tweak a few things and the more Ryan McQueen touches the ball the better the whole team is going to go," Berkrey said.
"He's probably more of a natural six, and Tyron molds into the centre role quite easily so we think it is going to be a long-term change moving forward."

Zac Fairall will start at hooker to replace the two-time Weissel Medal winner.
Fairall made his first grade debut in four two and Berkrey is looking forward to giving him his chance.
"He's been training really well and now has to turn it into good performances," he said.
