After finishing eight of ten on debut at Queanbeyan on December 10, the four-year-old gelding was sent out a despised $21 long shot.
But after sitting back in the field in the 1400m race, Kissick unleashed a sustained burst on the rail down the straight to beat fellow outsider Buster Fontein ($16) by nearly a length, with $1.60 favourite Sense of Doubt third.
Trained by Goulburn's Wayne Hudd, Shammos didn't show much fight on debut but turned it around in stunning fashion to grab the $11,200 first place cheque.
Kissick also produced a superb ride on Everywhere Mann ($12), which finished a two-length second behind Rock The Ring in the Class 2 Handicap (1300m), while he also finished runner up aboard Ghost Doctor ($13) in the Benchmark 66 Handicap
In other races Wagga trainer Chris Heywood's Landmine was slashed from $10 to $6.50 before the jump of the Benchmark 66 Handicap (1400m), but couldn't sustain his run down the straight to finish third behind the Joseph Ible-trained Ons Vier ($9) and Nick Olive's Invincible Dash ($11).
Jerilderie trainer Phil Sweeney also secured a third-place cheque with Pay The Deeler in the Class 2 Handicap (1300m), while Gary Colvin's Kurocaine flashed home to finish third in the Benchmark 66 Handicap (1200m).
