The talented Wagga sprinter made it back-to-back wins with victory in the Open Handicap (1200m) at Murrumbidgee Turf Club on Christmas Eve.
It proved to be the most popular win of Ted Ryder Cup day with a large group of owners celebrating Forever Newyork's triumph loudly from the grandstand.
Colvin admitted in the aftermath that a trip to the Magic Millions carnival will now be considered for Forever Newyork.
"He's eligible for the Country Cup at the Gold Coast," Colvin said.
"I said he'd have to win and win well so we'll see what comes up. It would be a nice race but we'll just see."
The Magic Millions Cup (1200m) is worth $242,500 and is held at the Gold Coast on Saturday, January 9, a week before the main raceday.
Forever Newyork was a $32,000 purchase at the Magic Millions Adelaide Yearling Sale in 2015.
His latest win, the seventh of his career, took his career earnings to just shy of the $200,000 mark.
Forever Newyork ran second in the 2017 SDRA Country Championships Qualifier at Albury, before running 14th in the $500,000 final.
He won at metropolitan level at Canterbury a year later, a start before running third in another SDRA Country Championships Qualifier, behind Bennelong Dancer.
His career since, and throughout to a degree, has been plagued by a persistent hoof injury that has made life tough for Colvin in trying to get the necessary work into the horse.
Colvin believes the seven-year-old is now back to his best.
"He's such a lovely looking horse but he's a gross horse. You've got to work him a bit to keep that weight off him because he'll eat anything. He's just one of those horses," he said.
Blaike McDougall was again in the saddle for last Thursday's success. He unashamedly admits the chestnut is one of his 'favourites'.
The other option for Forever Newyork is the $22,000 Summer Sprint (1200m) at Wagga on Thursday, January 7.
