Colts are winless through a rain-interrupted start of the season and their skipper is hopeful they can put it all together against Lake Albert at Rawlings Park Turf on Saturday.
"To play 100 games for the club is an honour but I won't be thinking about it too much on Saturday," Hanigan said.
"I just want to win for the club and for our season.
"It is something I will look on at the end of my career as something to be proud of as not many people get to play 100 games for your club.
"In cricket terms 100 games is a lot of games as some years you might only play 10 games due to two-day cricket and not playing finals."
The 28-year-old has been captain of the club for six of the past eight seasons and led the club to their premiership in the 2014-15 season.
It's the highlight of his time with Kooringal.
Hanigan made his first grade debut in 2011 after coming through their junior ranks however it wasn't until a knee injury ended his football playing days that he really started to take his cricket seriously.
"In my late teens and early 20s I was playing footy and always getting injured, I had a significant knee injury when I was 21 which put my footy career down the drain, but cricket came along and gave me a new breath of life," he said.
"I started enjoying cricket again and it is something I now love doing every week."
After two washouts to start the season, Colts lost their next four matches but were in a strong position when rain forced last week's clash against St Michaels to be drawn.
Hanigan is hopeful they can build on that against a Lake Albert outfit whose lone win of the season was when the teams last clashed.
"Last week was disappointing with the rain but we haven't talked about it at all this week and need to move forward to Lake Albert," he said. "We just have to play a full game of cricket and if we can bowl, bat and field well I'm pretty confident we can get our first win for the year."
Colts have three returning faces for the clash in Andrew Dutton, Daniel Perri and Macgregor Hanigan however David Bolton won't play again until after Christmas after taking advantage of the Western Australian border opening.
