The unbeaten Blues are the only side to get the better of the Cats this season, taking a six-wicket win last month.
South Wagga will welcome back Warren Clunes for the clash while they sweat on the fitness of Mitch Sykes to determine their full line up.
Jeremy Rowe and Mick Mattingly will come out of the side who were well on the way to another victory before the rain came last week.
However captain Luke Gerhard is unsure how the team will line up with Alex Smeeth and Clunes both putting in strong performances after alternating at the top of the batting order.
"We've mixed it up a lot this year and given blokes an opportunity to bat with new people," Gerhard said.
"There is every chance we change the top of the order again and shuffle things around to find everyone's best position and give everyone a hit at the start of the year."
Not only is top spot up for grabs but the two teams will also play for the Village Settlers Cup.
Gerhard expects another tough clash.
"It is always a big game against them and there is a huge rivalry between us so we will be doing whatever we can to get the win this week," he said.
"These are the games you look forward to.
"It is always a big challenge playing those guys and I'm sure they would say the same about us.
"We've both handy batters and handy bowlers and it only takes one or two to fire and it turns into a close game."
