The Bulldogs conceded 296 runs against Wagga City before South Wagga made 307 against them last week.
Captain Sam Perry wanted to use the consecutive clashes against the top two teams to see where his side is at.
Now he's hoping the bowling attack can take some valuable lessons into their clash with St Michaels at Robertson Oval on Saturday.
"We've played the two best teams in the comp and probably haven't bowled as well as we should have or could have," Perry said.
"It has let us down a little bit but overall our batting has still been pretty good.
"Against Wagga City it was definitely good while last week we were 4-76 but I think given the circumstances with the rain coming it was pretty hard to bat.
"We really need to step up this week to beat St Micks, who are one of the teams who could kick us out of the four if we drop a few more games."
Perry wants the bowling attack to stick their plans better and work out better ones, especially against the better batsmen in the competition.
Wagga RSL are hopeful they won't have any changes to the side however Todd Henderson and Rod Guy are in doubt after picking up injuries against South Wagga last week.
Henderson (back) is the bigger concern.
