Demmery had surgery to insert a plate into his broken right collarbone on Monday after he was the victim of a freak accident on Sunday.
Demmery was warming up for competition at rounds two and three of the Australian Superbike Championship (ASBK) when a sponsor sign became loose and flung across the track, knocking him off his bike.
He was transported to Goulburn Hospital before undergoing surgery in Wagga on Monday.
Demmery's father, Mick, said Brandon was in good spirits and already planning his return to the bike.
"He's already talking about a track day on the 20th of this month, which I've knocked on the head," Mick said.
"All he's worried about is when he can get back on the bike. He just loves being on a motorbike and racing."
Racing took a back seat for Demmery when he moved to Melbourne in 2018 to accept a position with Erebus Motorsports, working in the workshop and at the track.
It came after a horror crash the year before at Phillip Island, where he fractured his pelvis and suffered compound fractures to his tibia, fibia and femur.
Demmery still feels the effects of the crash to this day.
"This (operation) just adds a bit more steel to him," Mick said.
"He's steel pretty much all the way up through his right side."
The COVID-19 pandemic prevented Demmery from racing much this year, prior to the weekend's incident at Wakefield Park.
He took part in the opening round of the ASBK in February and then had to wait until December for the next two rounds, and then still missed out due to the accident.
Demmery had qualified in fourth in his YMI Supersport 300 division and was confident of a strong performance.
Not only did the crash bang Demmery up, but it also caused around $3000 damage to his bike, plus his leathers and helmet.
