The 'Get Ready Disaster Dashboard' maps everything from road closures and floods, to fires and power outages in a central location, providing links to supporting emergency contacts and other reliable information sources.
Snowy Valleys Council CEO Matthew Hyde said the technology would help residents make more informed decision, particularly in times of stress.
"Localised emergency updates, preparedness advice and seasonal awareness of potential risks is more important than ever and the dashboard provides easy access to information all in one central location," he said.
With information from the Rural Fire Service, State Emergency Services, government sites and more, the dashboard comes as part of a roll out to 27 other councils across the state through Resilience NSW's Regional Disaster Preparedness Program.
In other news:
Snowy Valleys mayor James Hayes said the recent bushfires played a part in the site's assignment to the region.
"There's obviously already a lot of recovery going on from the bushfires, but this is also about renewal," he said.
"We need to, and do, get better and better at things all the time, be it communication in emergencies or predicting the weather, so we hope this helps us bounce back better than before."
Mr Hyde urged everyone to familiarise themselves with the website.
"I would encourage everyone in the Snowy Valleys to consider it as their first source of trustworthy information. It will help you to make informed and safe decisions about the situation at hand," he said.
