Schoolboys Noah Harper and Nathan Butt will both step up to first grade for the clash at Robertson Oval.
Both are looking to have an impact with the bat.
Captain Luke Gerhard has faith both can step up to the mark with Mitch Sykes and newcomer Jed Guthrie both unavailable.
"We've got a couple of young guys coming in and it is good to give them a crack," Gerhard said.
"It is good to have some depth and give the young fellas a go."
Harper, 14, joins older brother Blake in the Blues line up.
He's made plenty of runs in junior representative matches and is looking forward to playing alongside his brother in the top grade.
"I'm feeling good," Harper said.
"I didn't think it would come this quick but it will be good."
Gerhard is excited to see what he can do.
"It is good that he gets a reward and gets to play with his older brother Blake," he said.
"I think he is going to follow in his footsteps and be a good cricketer."
Harper will warm up for the clash with his under 16s teammates on Friday night.
Butt is in his second season with South Wagga after electing to make the trip over from Tumut chasing better quality cricket.
After moving out of the under 16s this season he was surprised to get the call up.
"I came over here just to get a bit of better cricket and play in a better competition," Butt said.
"I was just doing some cricket things for the school actually when I got a text from the captain and it made my day.
"I'm pretty happy to get the call up together."
Harper and Butt played some second grade together last year and spent time in the middle together.
The Tumut teenager is looking forward to the challenge against the Cats.
"It is a big test but we will be right," Butt said.
"There is plenty of experience with the other boys."
Gerhard is pleased to reward him for his travel commitment.
"He's got plenty of potential and while I haven't actually seen him play I've heard some good things about him and it is good to see another kid keen to have an opportunity," he said.
Wagga City took a seven-wicket win when the teams met in last season's grand final.
A different piece of silver wave will be up for grabs as the two sides play off for the Settlers Village Cup.
After a win over Wagga RSL to start the season, Gerhard is looking for the side to turn the strike over better in the middle order.
