Dominic Wilhem Fiorenza will return to Albury Local Court next month following his arrest this week.
It's alleged the 34-year-old man, who lives at Warragamba west of Sydney, made arrangements online to meet the teenager.
Police said the pair met through social media.
He allegedly drove from Sydney to the Murray River police region in April and abused the girl.
Police began investigating the matter in June.
Fiorenza was arrested at Penrith Police Station on Wednesday afternoon before being charged with two counts of having sexual intercourse with a child aged between 14 and 16.
