His 90 Butterflies exhibition will be on display in the fourth and final annual instalment of Artstate NSW.
"The butterflies are about healing, it's about biodiversity. I kind of thought of it as specimens in a museum," Mr Hatzis said.
"Because of coronavirus and lockdown I wanted to make a healing painting, something that people can look at and feel better."
The Artstate program has showcased a range of diverse creatives and hosted discussion about the issues faced in regional NSW communities since its launch in Lismore in 2017.
IN OTHER NEWS:
Vickie Burkinshaw, owner of The Curious Rabbit cafe and gallery, said she was thrilled to be one of the local businesses featured in the Artstate Wagga.
"People will come from all across the state to get together and have a chat about arts and how they can promote regional arts," Ms Burkinshaw said.
"It's Wagga's turn to host, so that's very exciting. People will come from all over ... and just really bring the town alive with arts and entertainment.
"We can't wait to welcome everybody here."
Artstate Wagga will run from November 5-8 under COVID-19 directions, and while it is free to attend, bookings are essential as places are limited.
The event also features a conference program with keynote speakers from around Australia and overseas which runs alongside an extensive arts program exploring artistic talent from across the Riverina.
