Piper Lockley scored twice in the opening five minutes as the Wanderers trounced Monaro Panthers 5-1 at Gissing Oval.
Megan Castle also enjoyed a double, with Maddy Harris also finding the back of the net.
Wagga City Wanderers coach Sam Gray could not have been prouder of his team.
"A really, really positive team display from every player. Every player played their part. I couldn't single anyone out. The team ethic was what won them it," Gray said.
"They played for each other, positive communication, if we couldn't go forward, we went back and rebuilt and looked for another way forward and found the other way forward.
"The displays have been improving week on week. We've had two games where we've lost by an odd goal and then we've turned it on its head today and had a 5-1 win. The intensity for the whole 90 minutes from every player was fantastic."
With some really encouraging signs over the opening month of the season, Gray has no doubt his team is headed in the right direction.
"As a club, we were aware we were heading in the right direction, we've got plans in place that we're following, we're trying to make sure everyone understands the way that we play and the effort that we put in," he said.
"The culture that they have now, they're all positive, they all want to play for each other. When one person scores, the team scores.
"In a short season, you can take small steps and those small steps will lead us to a bright future, it's the way I see it. We're planting the seeds and the seeds are starting to sprout."
