The Cherrypickers host Kangaroos at Alfred Oval on Saturday with both teams looking to extend their undefeated starts to the season.
Young come into the clash with plenty of confidence after they proved too strong for Brothers at Equex Centre on Sunday, scoring a 16-8 victory.
It was the first time in the competition's history they have managed to score a win over the competition heavyweights.
New coach Garry Lucas was pleased with how the young side were able to get the better of their more experienced rivals.
"The girls said they've been playing for 10 years and had never beaten them so it is a good one," Lucas said.
"We've got a few new heads in there with some juniors coming through and it is starting to pay off.
"They'd had some good junior girls over the years and they are just starting to come through now.
"It is working."
Lucas has taken over the coaching role this season and believes Young have been improved by adding more structure to their attack.
However he knows there is a hardest test to come up against the ladder leaders who come into the clash off a 32-0 win over Gundagai on Saturday.
"I've said all year that is going to be the one," Lucas said.
"I knew they were on song this year while Brothers have lost a few.
"Kangaroos are the team to beat so this will be the best test."
He continues to be impressed by Jess McInnerary while Anna Hall and Emma Jones also put in strong performances.
Kangaroos sit on top of the ladder with a superior points differential after keeping their rivals scoreless for the fourth time this season.
The Wagga outfit has only conceded one try this season, against Southcity in round two.
Southcity made it back-to-back wins after a 36-10 win over Junee.
It leaves them two points clear of Tumut, who had the bye, as they look to play finals for the first time in the club's history.
A win over Gundagai on Sunday would put them in the box seat to secure fourth place.
