After a draw with arch rivals Tumut to start the season, the Tigers have won their next three games after proving far too good for Kangaroos at Equex Centre on Saturday.

Gundagai controlled things from the outset as Jake Elphick swooped on a dropped ball to score after nine minutes.

Tries to James Smart and Dane O'Hehir helped them to a 14-0 lead at half-time before James Luff, O'Hehir and Jack Lyons crossed in the second half to seal the 32-8 victory.

Coach Adam Perry labelled it their best performance so far.

He was particularly pleased with how they controlled the game after being guilty of letting sides back into the contest so far this season.

"We had a good week at training and took it into the game," Perry said.

"I think we were really controlled and built into the game.

"We stayed patient instead of trying to score too quickly."

Perry was pleased to see the combination of Mathew and Jack Lyons continue to flourish on their right edge after the brothers made the decision to play alongside each other at the Tigers this season.

Troy Barby also impressed.

There were a few highlights for Kangaroos, who remain on the bottom of the ladder with the lone win.

However one was schoolboy Ned Cooper scoring his side's first try in the 53^rd minute.

Captain-coach Hayden Ashcroft also crossed for a consolation effort.

The Wagga outfit will be desperate for success when they travel to tackle Young at Alfred Oval next week while Gundagai face Southcity, who are coming off their first win of the season.

Perry is wary of last year's grand finalists.

"I think the Bulls are flying under the radar a bit," he said.

"They scored as many tries as Tumut but didn't kick goals.

"We'll have to be really good as always to get them."

Smart picked up a thumb issue in the win but it isn't believed too serious.
