After losing their first three games the Bulldogs looked destined for another defeat after the visitors piled on the only four goals of the opening quarter, while the wasteful hosts managed just 1.8 in the first half to trail by 17 at the main break.
But Turvey Park kicked six second half goals to one to secure a 7.8 (50) to 6.6 (42) win, which may all but end Osborne's top four hopes.
After beating the Tigers in the first round the competition newcomers looked dangerous, but three straight losses means they must win their last two games and hope results go their way.
Co-coach Chase Grintell only took over the job with Josh Ashcroft just days before the season began after incumbents Mark Carroll and Jeremy Sykes opted not to take part.
He said it could have been easy for his young side to drop their lips, and said the win was a reward for hanging tough.
"It's a really good feeling. The 21 of us really stood up and it was a great team effort," he said.
"In the third quarter we served it up to them. Our pressure in our forward line didn't let it out, it was making them fumble the footy and it paid off in the end.
"We've never played Osborne before, they're from a different league and we had nothing to lose. I said to the boys to take the opportunity against them.
"The last few weeks we've only played maybe two quarters and come out of half time a bit flat, but the boys changed things up a bit at half time and came out firing."
Grintell said a greater willingness to back themselves and play positive football was a major factor in the win.
"We got back to our normal footy, trying to play short footy coming through the corridor. They've got the ability, they've just got to back each other," he said.
"When everyone puts the hard yards in, you never know what can happen."
The Bulldogs were bolstered by the inclusion of Jesse Margosis after successful stints at Marrar and Lockhart, while club junior Jackson Weidemann had a strong impact in the midfield after returning from a year with North Albury.
"Our midfield stood up today, Jackson Weidemann runs all day and didn't have a break. And the Leary boys (Lachlan and Daniel) were good again," Grintell said.
Margosis kicked the eventual clinching goal for the Bulldogs, who face a tough test against Wagga Tigers next week.
