It was standing room only at St Michael's Cathedral in Wagga for Mr Clarke's funeral, where friends and family paid their respects to a dedicated community man.
Speaking at the funeral, Mr Clarke's long-time friend Matt Waugh said the attendance was a testament to the respect the farmer had gained across the Ladysmith and Wagga communities.
Mr Clarke was born on July 1, 1942 and grew up in Dapto alongside his twin brother Bob and sister Ruth.
In 1956, the family moved to Ladysmith to begin dairy farming at 'Samarra', with Mr Clarke and his brother heavily involved in the farm from the beginning.
Mr Clarke married his wife Patricia on October 15, 1966 and the pair celebrated their 50th anniversary three years ago.
He was a farmer all his life and could be seen driving the tractor well into late 2019.
He was heavily involved across a range of community organisations including Landcare, Rotary, RFS and his catholic church.
Mr Clarke was a strong advocate for the dairy industry, appearing frequently in the media voicing local issues.
At the funeral Mr Waugh praised his ability to "have a chat" and get involved in community issues where he was needed.
"The Clarke family and the wider community have lost a man of substance, a man whose life stands as a statement of his beliefs," he said.
