The slowest of the three heat winners has come up with the one box.
He's never started from the red in his previous 13 starts but The Rock trainer expects it will suit.
"I'm pretty happy with it," Smith said. "He's a very good railer and it is the best box in any final.
"It doesn't matter where you are but in saying that there are some very good dogs in it and probably two of the best sprinters in Australia are in the race."
Deliver clocked 29.71 seconds to set a new track record in the first heat while There's A Catch also broke the 30 second mark.
Ultimate Speed went 30.04 but Smith is confident he can run faster to book his place in the semi-finals at Wentworth Park next month.
"I'd expect him to break 30 this week," he said.
"He hadn't had a 500 at home for a long time, he'd be running 400 and been pretty close to the record every time he goes around."
Smith expects the start will be key.
Deliver has drawn three, his kennelmate Black Opium has five with There's A Catch in seven.
The Rock trainer is hoping he can find some more speed out of the boxes to put himself in the right position.
"The run into the first corner is going to tell," Smith said. "With all the ones on his outside I've got to find a length with him to the corner as there are a couple there who are half a length quicker than him.
"We will see what happens with the luck at the first corner."
Smith has been pleased with how Ultimate Speed has come through the heat.
"He's bouncing and getting better all of the time," he said.
"He's only just two years old and when we got the dog it was a bit of a mission but he's improved every time we've put him around."
The Million Dollar Chase regional final is at 6.57pm with the first race at 5.42pm.
