The Blues ran in three late tries to overrun the Dragons and move back into third spot.
Injured co-coach Dean Bristow was pleased with the fight the team showed in the 28-14 win, especially after compounding late last week.
"It was a very tough win," Bristow said.
"We showed a bit of character and a bit of spirit there, what we've been lacking in the past few weeks.
"They scored a try to get in front of us with about 20 to go but we showed some character.
"Just some little effort plays that we've been speaking about, and were probably missing in the first half, in the last 20 were there in bucket loads, there were blokes pushing around the ball and trying to capitalise."
Tumut took a 12-8 lead into half-time but were forced to do plenty of defence early in the second half.
Temora edged back in front when Zach Starr barged over but the Blues had enough answers to send the Dragons out of the top five.
Ben Roddy and Tom Warner both completed their doubles to get the Blues over the line, while Jordan Anderson, who took on most of the playmaking duties, also crossed to ensure their eighth win of the season.
Bristow was pleased with how they overcame a desperate Dragons outfit.
"They had a lot of ball early in the second half, we did a lot of defence, and it should have taken it out of us but when the game was on the line we wanted it more," he said.
