In a remarkable turnaround since a 40-point thrashing by Southcity a fortnight ago, the Wagga side has now chalked up consecutive wins over top five opponents.

In by far their most impressive performance of the season, Brothers dominated from the opening minutes at Equex Centre as they run riot against a team coming off a win against ladder leading Gundagai.

They played with enthusiasm and attacked the Thunder with numbers at every opportunity.

Coach Peter Little was thrilled with the 54-14 win.

"This is the kind of footy I expected us to be playing right from the start of the year," Little said.

"We had a lot of injuries, but we're finally starting to get them back and we've actually been able to keep our guys in key positions, plus our attitude has been massive.

"What makes the great teams good is the little things and that is what we did.

"We backed each other up and one thing I was really happy with was our support."

Five-eighth Dylan McLachlan was the mastermind, crossing for a double himself plus providing plenty of assists for his teammates.

Cade Price scored a hat-trick including an important try just before half-time.

Brothers had the better of the first half and looked to be converting their heavy weight of possession when Price finished off a 60-metre try, set up by good offloads from McLachlan and Connor McCauley, with nine minutes left in the half.

However Albury were quick to respond as a Robbie Byatt kick sat up perfectly for Damien Scott to score three minutes lafter before Price's speed off a kick return caught the Thunder defence napping and he raced 80 metres away to hand Brothers a 18-8 lead at the break.

Nine minutes into the second half, McLachlan broke out of a tackle extend their lead before Brothers went on to score five tries in the final 23 minutes.

Albury got one back when Liam Wiscombe scored his second after a short kick off was marvelously scooped up by Keanau Wighton but the Thunder were sent back to reality with a thud after their surprise win over Gundagai.

Injured coach Adrian Purtell was far from impressed with his side.

"It's disappointing and a really embarrassing performance but we have to own that," Purtell said.

"It just wasn't good enough but we have an opportunity to turn it around."

Albury are out to hit back against Temora, who dropped to sixth after their loss to Tumut, while Brothers are out to extend their winning run up against Young.
