Batlow, Tumbarumba and Laurel Hill recorded 5-10cm of snow between Sunday and Monday, according to the latest snow report for Selwyn Snow Resort, about 80km east of Tumbarumba.
Forecast snowfall for the region is set to be 5-20cm today until Thursday, with Wednesday expected to receive the most snowfall.
The Bureau of Meteorology states that until Thursday, snow will fall above 700 metres with temperatures between -3 and 15 and winds between 20km/h and 40km/h.
Nigel Smedley, weather observer at Wagga BOM office said, a series of cold fronts crossing the state will bring windy and cold conditions, with showers, until the midweek.
"There should be more stable weather from Thursday onwards, with winds easing," Mr Smedley said.
Motorists are advised to follow NSW Transport's safe-driving tips on icy roads:
- Obey speed advisory signs and drive to the conditions.
- Slow down and watch for ice on roads, especially in shaded or low lying areas.
- Drive with your headlights on low beam. You should only use your fog lights if driving in fog, mist, or other atmospheric conditions that restrict your visibility.
- Watch for wildlife warning signs - many road accidents in snow and ice affected areas involve native animals crossing roads, particularly at night.
- Keep a safe distance from the vehicle in front. Braking in icy or wet conditions should be gentle to avoid skidding and losing control. Brake early and accelerate slowly.
