The premiers ran in seven tries to one to inflict the Wagga side's first loss of the season.
The Tigers dominated the majority of the first half to take a 14-0 lead into the break and, unlike their last clash with Young, they didn't take the foot off the pedal.
Instead they scored the twice more before Kangaroos finally had some joy when Cameron Andrews scored after a repeat set with 13 minutes remaining.
Undeterred by having their line crossed, Gundagai scored the last two tries to run out 38-6 winners.
Coach Adam Perry thought it was a much more complete performance.
"It was good," Perry said.
"It was more of a complete performance than in the last couple of weeks.
"We started well in the last two weeks but this week we carried it on a bit further.
"It was good, there were still a few patches were we weren't great, but it was a lot closer to 80 minutes than the last few games."
Mathew Lyons proved damaging on Gundagai's left edge, scoring the first two tries inside 15 minutes.
The Tigers created more opportunities down that side as Seb Cottam scored eight minutes later and despite Kangaroos rarely having an attacking foray it was the last try of the first half.
Kangaroos needed to lift in the second stanza and they couldn't have got off to a worse start.
A mix up trying to take the kick off gave the Tigers the perfect chance and despite Cottam dropping the ball just short of the line it didn't take the premiers long to add to their lead.
Seven minutes into the half, James Smart backed up a break to score his first.
The former captain-coach had his second 12 minutes later and his impending departure leaves a query in Gundagai's attack after being among their best.
Kangaroos capitalised on some rare good ball possession on the Tigers line to get the on board before Lyons completed his hat-trick with a fortuitious effort.
He was ruled to have kicked the ball rather than dropping in 40 metres out from the try line as he regathered to score in the corner.
Luke Berkrey then sealed the big win.
Kanagroos came into the clash with wins over Young and Cootamundra to their credit but without coach Glenn Dumbrell.
They then lost prop Dana Ratu 47 seconds into the clash after a head knock but had an ideal replacement with Hayden Ashcroft, returning from three years in the Bulldogs' lower grades, thrown into the action.
