The winner of the 2016 Victoria Derby will stand his first season at Kooringal Stud this year.
Trained by James Cummings, Prized Icon was a dual group one winner and amassed more than $2.1 million in prizemoney during his 33-start career.
Prized Icon is one of the best performed stallions to stand in the Riverina and Kooringal Stud principal Stuart Lamont is delighted to add him to the roster.
"We are thrilled to be given the opportunity to stand Prized Icon at Kooringal and give local breeders an opportunity to access some of the most successful bloodlines in the world," Lamont said.
"His two year old season culminated in two brilliant wins, first in the listed Fernhill Handicap and a week later in the group one Champagne Stakes.
"Prized Icon returned to racing after a short break and showed his versatility by easily winning the time honoured VRC Derby.
"Prized Icon is an outstanding type who has an uncanny resemblance to his sire More Than Ready whose progeny have earned a staggering $210 million. More Than Ready is the sire of ill fated champion sire Sebring as well as boom two year old sire Better Than Ready.
"Prized Icon is from Danehills stakes winning daughter Tropical Affair who has also produced the group winners Matras and Romantic Room."
Prized Icon will stand at $11,000 and joins Duporth, The Brothers War and Magic Albert at Kooringal.
