The Saints last two matches have produced favourable results with them holding the Warriors to a 5-all draw, then looking most impressive in their 9-1 win over Turvey Park.
Turvey Park’s last two efforts have been a 6-3 loss to the Warriors and then an even bigger loss in the semi-final, going down 9-2.
The figures say it all.
Turvey Park has to find form with the bat, and quickly if they are to remain in contention for the trophy.
In that department, there were only five Turvey players hit safely in last week’s game and only six the previous start.
Sarah Carter, Leila Wadley, Amanda Gooden, Belinda Dennis, Jade Olsen, Georgina Carter and Paris Hall will have to continue in that vein as well as the rest of the team who must have the scorer looking for the green pen.
The Saints batting lineup is quite formidable with Rochelle Harley, Desi Calder, Tessa McGlynn and Kadison Hofert all in great touch.
On top of that Paula Potts, Gemma McGlynn and speedster, Jess Wild, can all be looked to for a safe hit.
As has been mentioned frequently, the Saints defence is sound.
Led by the battery of Tessa McGlynn and Kadison Hofert, the Saints will be expected to make runs hard to come by for Turvey.
By contrast, Turvey’s pitching has been hit for 18 runs in their last two starts and they’ll be keen to lessen that number of runs on Saturday.
Both teams have fine outfielders with Leila Wadley, Jane Wadley and Georgina Carter shining for Turvey Park, whilst Gemma McGlynn, Laura Harley and Jess Wild have been doing well for the Saints.
Saints went down to South Wagga in last year's grand final and Turvey Park the year before that so with the prospect of playing in another grand final, both teams will be out to win this one, and as such the game’s sure to go down to the wire.
