Funded with the help of Wagga City Council and NSW Department of Sport and Recreation, the new base launched at Lake Albert with support of Dr Joe McGirr and Mayor Greg Conkey.
The dragon boat club were fortunate enough to have the shed project managed free of charge by builder Chris Jones who received a certificate of appreciation at the grand opening.
Over a day of sipping drinks, cutting cake and mingling with excited guests, Councillor Conkey said he hoped rain would bring more water to the lake so the Bidgee Dragons could get back to what they do best.
