Groups have the chance to be included in the “donate” option offered to people using the Wagga reverse vending machines.
More information is available from operator TOMRA Cleanaway’s website: tcnsw.com.au.
Groups that meet the selection criteria are chosen on a first-come, first-served basis and rotated quarterly.
Applications for this round close on Monday, October 15, and new charity partners will appear on the reverse vending machines from Monday, November 26.
“Donation partners are free to use the donations however they like, whether it helps provide funding to buy uniforms, host an event, replace or repair equipment, or go on an excursion. It’s up to them,” Ryan Buzzell from TOMRA Cleanaway said.
Mr Buzzell said current figures showed that if the 10-cent return from one container out of every 10 returned was donated, up to $362,734 would go to Wagga organisations.
