THE Leeton police is the central hub when it comes to crime and it's also a place where stolen items can be housed. Leeton police have reminded residents of this fact, particularly if they have had any items stolen from their homes, vehicles or properties. Lost items can sometimes also find their way to the station. At the moment, there are several items in storage that have been stolen from residents or lost. MORE NEWS These include several bicycles/mountain bikes, a chainsaw, lawn mower, whipper snipper, many tools and several other small items. Inspector Justin Cornes said miscellaneous items are held for 28 days before a court order is sought to determine what will happen next to the property. "In many cases the items have likely been stolen and been recovered," he said. "There's also things that have been lost. "For example in the case of tools. Sometimes they might have fallen off the back of a ute or left at a job site." Residents who have had any of the above items stolen recently should touch base with police. "They can come in and see us here at the station," Inspector Cornes said. "We will ask them to tell us what they are missing/what has been stolen and give us a description."
