The 37-year-old man was arrested in Griffith on Tuesday after being stopped in Probert Street "as part of ongoing inquiries", police said.
Murrumbidgee Police District began investigating a number of break-ins on retail premises in Griffith, particularly in Yambil Street, last month.

The man's arrest comes after a search warrant was executed in Heath Street just after 4am on Sunday.
Several items believed to be stolen, including a tool bag, were seized in the search, police said.
The 37-year-old was taken to Griffith police station and charged with two counts of break and enter house steal, larceny, break and enter dwelling with intent to steal and entering a dwelling with intent to stead.
He is to appear before Wagga Local Court on Wednesday.
