The 20-year-old was one of the shining lights for the Wagga Sloggers last week, making 24 in their loss to start the Regional Bash.
It backed up a strong effort in Wagga RSL's first win of the season.
Carey is hoping to continue a bright start to the season over a busy weekend after getting a taste for the game at a different level.
"It's not very often you get to be a part of something with all the good players from the league," Carey said.
"You verse them every Saturday but to be on their side and to play with Ethan Bartlett and a couple of the top tier players was a very good experience."
It's not bad for someone who had the tips of three fingers amputated after contracting meningococcal.
Wagga RSL captain-coach Sam Perry has been impressed with his early impact.
"He's definitely been a shining light," Perry said.
"Bradley (McMillan) got 97 but the way Jacky Carey supported him through the middle was as good as you will see and he backed it up on Sunday for the Sloggers.
"He looked really good before he ran himself out.
"He's been very promising, has been putting in the hard yards at training and is another bloke at the club who wants to improve his game and help the club go somewhere."

Batting has been a sticking point for the Bulldogs in the past.
Perry is hoping they build on a positive effort when they host Wagga City at Wagga Cricket Ground on Saturday.
"We are looking to continue our runscoring ability," he said. "On the weekend it really showed how much easier it is to win cricket games when you score above 200.
"I think in Wagga Cricket if you score above 200 you give yourself every possible chance to win the game.
"I'd like to think our bowling is our stronger point so if we can post a good score on the board I'd like to think we can defend most scores."
The Cats took the honours when the two sides met to start the season.
However with the match impacted by rain, Perry doesn't think being bowled out for 83 was a true indication of their performance.
"We only fell 16 runs short on Duckworth-Lewis and needed 40 off the last four overs," he said.
"All in all if we had of batted better earlier in our innings it would have been a different result but I don't think you can take too much out of round one and we'll take a lot more out of the game just gone against Lake Albert and try to improve on that."
Wagga RSL has made one change with Rod Guy returning to the line up in replace of Ben Masterson.
Wagga City have also made one change with Aaron Maxwell replacing the unavailable.
