Robertson will have his first drive at Riverina Paceway on Friday and he isn't your typical debutant.
The 31-year-old doesn't come from a horse background, and is starting out much later than most.
Robertson credits his first pacer, Twentyeightblack, for getting him into the sport and is looking forward to his first drive.
"It's been a while coming so we will see how we go," Robertson said.
"It's not something that I've had in mind of doing for a long time or since I was a kid or something.
"Unlike a lot of people I don't come from a hands on horse background but what got me into it was having a small share in Twentyeightblack with some friends.
"We got into Blackie about three years ago and I went out to jog him a year and a half ago and it slowly went from there.
"I only learnt how to handle horses in that time and I'm still learning really."

The school teacher will steer All The Fours in his first start for Paul Kahlefeldt.
He comes to the stable off a win and Robertson believes drawing the inside of the second row will be a big benefit for his debut.
"It's got the nice soft draw so I don't have to think too much about it," he said.
"Hopefully we can have a safe run around and we'll see how it goes.
"It is only a new horse into the stable, and I actually haven't driven him yet, but we've only had him for a couple of weeks and Jared (Kahlefeldt) gave him trial last week.
"It is a pretty good way to start drawing nine and I think the horse is actually is quite a laid back horse from what I've been told."
He expects David Moran's Beach Memories will be very hard to beat after success on the track last week.
Robertson doesn't expect to drive too often but has enjoyed the challenge as he completed the 20 trial drives required to gain his license.
"I've had help from a number of people throughout my trials and I'm excited for the challenge of having my first race drive," he said.
"They will be few and far between but it will be a great experience."
However he enjoys having a different outfit from his usual routine.
"I usually go out on a Tuesday morning before work and Jared and I usually spin one around," Robertson said.
"It's a bit of a mad dash to work then but it is good to have a hobby outside of work and something to look forward to that is different to the normal.
"Then it's about getting to the races and riding the highs and lows."
Wagga will hold an eight-race card on Friday.
The first is at 1.27pm.
