Council is seeking expressions of interest for the licencing of the Wiradjuri Golf Centre located at Narrung Street, and strategic asset planner Ben Creighton said it was a "unique" chance that was unlikely to come around again soon.
"The existing tenant has been in there for a very long time, and that lease was up a while ago, but in the circumstance with COVID, it was carried over month to month," he said.
"It's at that time where we need to put it out to the broader community from a government perspective to make sure council and the community get the best result.
"The facility itself was constructed well over 20 years ago, and it's been under a variety of different management models during that time."
IN OTHER NEWS:
Mr Creighton said the facility would remain open, but the next tenant might consider some renovations.
"It's a really great opportunity and something we would really encourage people to have a look at," he said.
"There are other golf courses in the city but this is more aimed at the recreational golfer and the family element means it's a really great activity.
