Over the next six months, Rachel Fowler will be transforming the dilapidated building at 34 Johnston Street into her dream business.
'The Press' will be an "urban-style" cafe offering customers coffee, cakes and deli-style sandwiches.
IN OTHER NEWS:
The project is the culmination of a lifelong dream for Ms Fowler, who submitted a development application for the site earlier this month.
"I have wanted to do this since forever," she said. "I absolutely love food but more than that I love the social culture that comes with it."
"When you're having a bad day at work that 15 minute window when you go and get a coffee can sometimes be the best part of your day and I really want to capture that positive feeling."
Ms Fowler said she cannot wait to pick up the tools and begin remodelling the "perfect" building.
"I was looking for a space since the end of last year and nothing was quite right until I found this and just fell in love with it," she said.
"The building is from the 1930s and it definitely needs some love at the moment but it has had a whole life and history and I'm really excited to build on that and bring it back to life."
The building also features a community space which Ms Fowler plans to regularly offer to local artists and creatives on a rotating basis, as well as office space she will be leasing out.
"In Wagga there are some great thinkers and makers and I want to offer that space to people who want to get their skill or craft out there who might not necessarily have a space to operate in," she said.
Ms Fowler hopes to have The Press up and running by the middle of next year.
