Temporary access arrangements to the new hospital will begin from November 9 until mid-2022 as final works on the project are complete.
A transition period to the new site began last month, including staff orientation and training.
Murrumbidgee Local Health District chief executive Jill Ludford said it is an "exciting time as we prepare to welcome patients, staff and visitors to the new Hospital", thanking the community for their patience as the final stages of the redevelopment continue.
From 8.30am on Tuesday, November 9 the community will be able to access pathology, community health services, dental, rehabilitation services and hospital administration at the new site, with entry from Lambie Street.
Visitors and patients can continue accessing the emergency department, inpatient and birthing unit, medical imaging and hospital administration using the old hospital entry from Simpson Street until 12 noon on November 9.
In a statement an MLHD spokesperson said that after this time, access to services at Tumut Hospital for all patients, visitors, staff, ambulance and other emergency vehicles and service vehicles will be via the Lambie Street entry.
IN OTHER NEWS:
"Dedicated pedestrian access to the temporary main entry via Lambie Street will also be in in place," the spokesperson added.
The temporary access changes will be in place until final works of the redevelopment are complete, which will include the demolition of old hospital buildings, landscaping, a new helipad and car parking.
This is expected to be completed by mid-2022, when the main entry from Simpson Street opens.
An official opening event is scheduled to take place later this year.
