When plans to head to town were altered, the Albury trainer shifted focus to Wagga
Takissacod didn't know it was a back-up plan as five-year-old made it two wins and second since being transferred following Norm Loy's disqualification over a Facebook post.
Scott is thrilled with how the mare is racing after a third in the Country Championships heat last season.
"I was pretty lucky to get her like I did as she had been going super for Normy," Scott said
"I was just fortunate to get her and she's continued on with her form."

After winning first up at Queanbeyan, Takissacod was then second in a mares race at Warwick Farm before heading to Wagga.
Starting from barrier two, Nick Heywood was able to find cover just off the speed.
Takissacod ($2.30 fav) then peeled off to run past leader She's All In ($14) before holding off Banger ($) to win by almost a half length.
It was exactly what Scott wanted to see.
"It was beautiful and he rode her a treat," she said.
"He couldn't have rode her any better and it was exactly what I said.
"He just had to find a bum and then she settled and it was all over."
Pre-race heading to the Snake Gully Cup at Gundagai next month was the path.
Scott will reassess with connections keen to strike a with in the city with the half-sister to last season's Golden Slipper contender Rocket Tiger.
"Our long-term ambition is to get a city win with her so hopefully she is in the right sort of frame of mind and form to get that for the owners," Scott said.
"We will measure it up and if there is a nice race in town we might go there or head to the Snake Gully.
"We're only a fortnight out so it times in well for her."
Heywood then took out the last race with Unique Prince for Matthew Dale to share riding honours with Mathew Cahill on the eight-race card.
First Cahill combined with James Ponsonby as Will To Excel made it two straight wins.
Stepping up 1100 metres after winning at Orange 10 days earlier, Will To Excel ate up the extra distance to claim the Mountaineer Cup (3200m).
New Zealand import Participator then made it two wins from as many starts for Wagga trainer Tim Donnelly.
After a winning debut on Wagga Town Plate Day, Participator could not have been more impressive.
Cahill looked to have plenty left in reserve with the three-year-old.
